Landsat MSS Data can provide a valuable contribution to mineral exploration in sparsely vegetated, poorly mapped areas. In order to maximise this contribution, carefully selected processing techniques are applied to this data. These include edge enhancement techniques to highlight geological structure and ratios to enhance subtle colour variations. Certain spectral and structural features can then be extracted from the imagery and used to help suggest favourable locations for exploration
