Abstract taken from "Abstracts of theses and dissertations accepted for higher degrees in the Potchefstroom University for CHE, 1956-1975, Faculty of Economic Science", p. 12:
Practically the same steps are followed in chapter IV which deals with the dams as a source of water supply. The available data of the Avis, the Goreangab and the Swakop dam is supplied. Owing to limited information, only a brief analysis is made of the Swakop dam. The expenses of the Goreangab dam are discussed and analysed in chapter V together with the fihancing of the Sewage Treatment Works. Only the costs of the Avis dam are analysed in chapter IV
As already mentioned, chapter V deals with the expenses of the Goreangab dam and the Recramation Works. There is also a brief survey of the origin and development of the Reclamation Works
In chapter VI the expenses of the various sources are compared to determine future possibilities. Expcnses are tabulated to give a clearer indication of items and costs
The last part of the study comprises some conclusions concerning the accounts of the \\tunicipality, the allocation of expenses and the high loss of water during distribution. It concludes with some recommendations which might be of some use to the Municipality of Windhoek in the future
