1. 3 Hypothesis: The following hypothesis will guide the research: (a) Due to socialisation, there is a belief that disabled people are not good enough for any formal employment but domestic and basket weaving jobs. (b) Economic and social background contribute to the type of treatment disabled people receive from society as government is not doing enough to ensure that disabled people are given the same opportunities as able bodied people, hence their lack of determination to get better jobs in society (c) Lack of information plays a major role in the social status of people with disabilities
1. 4 Aims and objectives :The aims and objectives of this research are to find out the following: (a) What it is like to be a disabled person (b). How people with disabilities are treated by the public at large. (c) To examine the nature of access to information for disabled people (d) To investigate perceptions of disabled people on how access to information would change the lives of disabled people
