Women and children have internalized family violence as normal family life. Most of the time women and children do not talk about it, because they are scared
Based on this statement, a study was conducted in Rundu Town to assess the attitude and knowledge of women and children towards family violence, and the forms of abuse being practised on them in Rundu Town. The study focuses on the following variables: Family members and violence, attitude of family members towards violence, relationships between family members, family violence and substance abuse and cultural acceptance
The research findings proved that women and children view family violence as emotional inability. The lack of taking action arises from lack of knowledge, security and fear. Therefore meetings, awareness campaigns and workshops concerning violence against women and children are needed in Rundu. The study consists of five chapters: The Research Proposal, Literature Study, the Empirical Study, Data analysis and Interpretation and lastly the Conclusion and Recommendations
The sample consisted of 30 respondents. Information was gathered by means of a structured questionnaire with clear instructions
