Quantitative methods were used for data collection, and key informants were used in the collection of data

The study concluded that the community media does not yet address issues within the community. Also the community media does help in establishing the identity of the Rehoboth Basters, sometimes at the expense of a national identity. The community wanted the community media to address issues which concerned them and also to publish and broadcast more stories about the Rehoboth Basters identity

Contradictorily, the community expressed a need for financial assistance from the government to help them to function sufficiently. The community media also has the power to influence the community to change their way of life by means of advice programs and programs which focus on broad development issues
