The ideas of marketing libraries services are not new to the world. The study shows the development of public libraries in terms of marketing in the world and in Namibia. Marketing is the wide range of activities involved in making sure that people continuing to meet the needs of customers and getting value in return. The study was conducted at three public libraries in Windhoek areas. The research methodology used was both qualitative and quantitative for data collection, meaning that the research instruments were interview and questionnaires. Data were analyzed manually and electronically using Microsoft word, then presented in tables. Furthermore, objective of the study was to investigate, why public libraries in Namibia are not known by most of the public. The result was marketing services activities are not taking place in public libraries in Windhoek areas. It therefore, public libraries must create strategies for expansion, plan maximum competitiveness, customer needs, identify new market and gaps in existing markets, as well as initiate research and development innovations
