dc.source.uri A study was conducted to determine the differences in the feeding value of browse pods collected from two communal areas (Epukiro and Otjinene) in the Omaheke region. The mean values calculated indicated that there was a difference in degradation () between the two communal areas. The mean values of a, b, c, 48h and effective degradability (ED) were used to indicate ifthere was a difference in nutritive value of pods between the two communal areas. The mean values of the effective degradability (ED) for Epukiro and Otjinene were 59.3 and 64.4, respectively. The mean values of the a (48.95) from Epukiro and a value from Otjinene (53.29) also gave evidence that there was a difference between the two communal areas. The chemical composition between Acacia erioloba, Acacia hebeclada and Dichrostachys cinerea were analyzed to show if there was differences between the three pods. Crude protein (CP) values in both communal areas were different with the highest value of 22.0 and the lowest 11.74 . The NDF also showed a difference among the three pod species from both communal areas ranging from 23.2 to 59.6. It was therefore, concluded that there was a significant difference (P 0.05) in nutritive value of selected pods sampled from the two different communal areas based on differences in chemical composition and degradability (zero percent) en_US
